For some reason, I can never catch anyone online, and though I should bring this to PM's, I'm gonna ask so everyone can see it and wonder as well. (for those who don't know anyway)

With the new system transference, will the Experience our characters have be retained and applied to the new EXP Level Chart?
And will the characters get a choice of feats other then what is issued to them, sorta like Dungeons and Dragons? o_O

Given the way things are working right now in terms of dream attendance and such, that it's not really feasible to think in terms of the future of the CS.

I would like, and this may be a pipe dream, to use the current CS until D&D 4 comes out; and then use that entire system. It should be easier on us to take the pre-made SRD for D&D4 and add in the custom stuff, like Seal Acolyte and magic.

This does, of course, pre-suppose that Ansteorra wakes up from its slumber.

DnD 4th edition will work. Soon, I'm going to tell you why it will work.

Stay tuned.

At least give a chance to explain why we should use it. Don't count it out just yet. I know we're not a DnD continuity, but perhaps it's time to become one. Or at least, use the system to resolve combat. Isn't that what the CS is all about anyway? That's all we use it for. That's all we need DnD for.

Definitely don't count out D&D 4. It's a pretty intriguing system that could (as long as it is as awesome as I think it is) be better for us in the long run and reduce CS arguements.

You people who have loads of experience in DnD I can understand loving the prospect of Ansteorra using it.

However.

I don't think the majority of people would enjoy having rulebooks upon rulebooks to read through. "We use a Combat System" is also a hell of a lot better to the average player than "We use Dungeons and Dragons edition 4".

I'm not going to defend/promote 4th ed right now, but from what I have read, there's a lot less 'rulebookiness' in the newer edition.

I could be wrong xD

On the other paw, I'm all about simplifying our lives wrt the CS.

I still think we should write the CS into the dream using Phoenixspeak, and have commands that do all the dice rolling/computation for you. Which is possible. But slightly crazy.

From what I've read, I don't really like the idea of Fourth Edition. I've had enough of point-buy systems of any type, and D&D is looking to be aggressively complicated. Further, we shouldn't need people to be getting the sourcebooks if they want to keep up to date, and certainly don't want to copy the entire sourcebooks out for ourselves. That'd just be a drag.

Kalannar agrees.

I've used a Character Gen program to make a character sheet before..

It took me an HOUR, to put out skills figure out everything.. SO many fucking skills D= and besides there are like ten different ways to increase your AC

And if we're not going to have movement rules whihc ~are~ apart of D&D, Then..well Yeah

D&D Is ridculously complicated D=
