It's been done, it's been argued, it's happening. You decide. Place a vote on whichever side you support, as well as (if you want) a tidbit on your reasoning behind. Social debate here, all for the enjoyment of meaningless nitpicking. Ready, set, democracy! _________________ You say, "[Be more impatient Vith. >_>]"

The Pirate vs Ninja thing is utterly retarded, the only thing it has going for it is people who enjoy pretending they're hilariously random by going on about ninjas and pirates.
That said, POIRATES WILL KICK BOTH THEIR ASSES THOSE CANDY-ASS BRINE-GUZZLERS AND DRESS-WEARERS AIN'T GOT SHIT ON THE P TO THE O TO THE IRAAATE |

Do the words "Done to Fucking death" mean anything to you?
Perhaps we need a suitable picture to illustrate how very wrong it is to bring this up again... Ah. I know.

The point isn't that it has been done, but rather that we get the opportunity to participate in debating pirates vs ninjas. It can be really fun, so don't scorn it, just join in! _________________ You say, "[Be more impatient Vith. >_>]"

What is there to debate?
The romantic fantasy of seafaring scalliwags who plunder ships on the high seas, and fight against the evil British Navy to protect their libertine ways from the man?
Or the fact that western pirates were generally out of work drifters, scoundrels, adventurers, murderers and thieves, who were lucky to find a ship full of food or transient sponsorship from a noble. Perhaps Barbary pirates who were state sponsored slavers, and terrorists under the banner of Jihad against the infidel Europeans?
--
Maybe that great Ninja myth propogated by Anime and Hong Kong action flicks since the 60's - the silent assassin who is undefeatable and invisible, wears black and has all sorts of mystical powers!
Or the true story about a cult of assassins in the Shogunate that got thier asses handed to them by the daimyo's Samurai?
Tough choice! _________________ Sirum Hest: [It reads: It's great to be smart 'cause then you know stuff.]

It's not spam. I just prefer seafood over sushi.

Well
You have your Pirates with your romantic fiction, See Pirates of the Carribean, Then you have your acutal pirates, who as Kitzi-booth talked about were all 'YARR WE HAVE SCRUVY!"
and then you have the Ninja's who were totally wiped out by mostly in-fighting and then by the government at the time.
Now considering we still have modern day pirates at this time?
Pirates win.
Being that there is 'Talk like a Pirate day' and if we're getting intoi the Japan-thingy
Both One Piece AND Naruto are horribly popular, with rumors of One Piece acutally being a decent anime not counting the 4kids butchering. _________________ Cassius Algraves pets Tenely.]

As long as we're talking history...pirates were originally created by the Queen of Spain to attack...umm... I think England's navy secretly.
I think that's the gist...might've gotten a few facts jumbled. Been a bajillion years since 6th grade _________________ I'm going to start wounding you now. I don't know when I'll stop. |

They're both cliche. But I did buy a ton of pirate tags because Pirates were winning by like 200 votes in the www.furcadia.com/piratesvsninjas contest, and the winning side all get 6 month desctags.

Pirates, because ninjas are mainly douchebags that try to act cool. All that secluded training leaves them with no social skills. _________________

I didn't realize Pirates had social skills either, between their yarrs and scurvy ways. _________________ You say, "[Be more impatient Vith. >_>]"
