It was an early summer morning when it happened; the Broken Dagger lay vacated by its largest occupant, and within hours of daybreak the city guard began to nail notices to every post-board in the City of Ansteorra:
Code:

W A N T E D
Dead or Alive

John Emmanuel Butterburr IV
a.k.a
"Mad Dog" Butterburr

For High Treason against the Crown,
Crimes of Piracy on the High Seas
Crimes against the state of Ansteorra
Murder in the First Degree
Murder in the Second Degree
Conspiracy to commit acts of Terror against the State
Impersonating a Noble
Smuggling
Grand Larceny
etc.
etc.
etc.

Information leading to the arrest, conviction and execution of this notorious criminal will be rewarded with a prize of no less than 30 Royals.

Almost immediately the rumours began - how John Butterburr had lived within the Castle District openly, serving drinks. The scandal that such a notorious pirate could have lived within the city unnoticed lead to the resignation of at least two sub-commanders of the guard, and a couple of MPs to call for Commander Godric's resignation as well.

The state, having seized the properties formerly owned by the pirate, sold each one for a tidy profit through the office of a well-respected barrister: Mister Benefactor.

Mysteriously, Mister Benefactor has vanished along with all of the profits. Parliament has called for an investigation into the kidnapping of Mister Benefactor as well as the larceny of the money. It is rumoured that Butterburr himself was the culprit.

Gone from Ansteorra after turning in his resignation, the barkeep journeyed northward to the place he'd started his ordeal with the Dread Pirate: Old Himo. It is in this former (and possibly current) hideout of pirates all up the Callendorian coast that the cheetah rendezvoused with his old friend Stevedore: a burly old seadog much like Burr himself. The pair exchanged words at length about the current situation, and Dirk was soon advised that if he ever planned to find his employer... he'd do well to get his paws on a bigger boat.

With plots boiling in his brain, Dirk set sail for the coast of Austia, the most hated and perfumy country he'd ever set foot in. With hardly any comprehension of the local language, he infiltrated the shipyards under the guise of a Launcian noble and managed to swindle an obese swine out of his boat... of course should Dirk fail to repay the debt then necromancers or far less savory sort might come to collect.

Now in possession of the self-proclaimed "Guilty Spork" Dirk shall set sail for the destination far overseas where even Erisvan would blush at the bloodshed: Rainbow bay.
