The west wing of the Merchant's Square is a wreck on the inside. Two broken windows, a whole room scorched and flamelicked, and some of poor Mr. Seth Thompson's wares burnt beyond retrieval! What's a panther to do? Furthermore, one can be certain that crazy old lady - that Nutmeg femme - isn't going to be pleased either.

There are dissatisfied murmurings of an Elemental attack, and mentions of the murders it may or may not have caused a couple nights prior. Strange, isn't it, that one should venture all the way to Ansteorra City just to have it out with the locals?

Nobody outside recalls seeing a little bit of oily shadow slip away into the underbrush, nor of a strange wind stirring the trees in succession. But one can be sure that it was there.

[Until someone is hired to help fix up the shop, Seth's little shoppe is scorched badly, as is the hallway outside it; his shop's window is broken, and Nutmeg's shop next door has received slight damage as well from the bomb which was set off.]

[As most of the items in the shop were something that would have easily taken damage beyond making it worth trying to salvage or repair, most of what was in the shop is gone and the rest as you can imagine now sticks of fire and ash and soot and such, at least for the moment.]

A small squadron of around four or five guards was spotted at the scene today, apparently to investigate the incident. After spending a couple hours, they left, but it is clear that the Day Guard has opened a case over the alleged arson.

A similar investigation is underway by the Trades Union, though solely for insurance reasons. It is concluded, after some time that Nutmeg was not at fault, and any damages done to her shop have been reimbursed after claims were made. Subsequently, a marginal increase has been made to all individuals paying dues in the market square to reflect the increased threat.

Rumor would have it that once the arson investigation had been opened, Seth would be seen going into the remains of his shop only to be heard moments later from any close enough to The Black Cat, yelling "Where for Prime's sake is it?!", and soon after leaving the shop.

So far when asked what it was he was in such a panic to find, the young panther had denied he was searching for anything specific.

Now Seth is often seen taking himself aside to where he can not be heard and uttering something to a coin which seems to be magic as it will give off a white light whenever Seth has spoken to it. This somehow seems to disappoint the Valanthan.
