Talk:Under the Canopy

From Anstepedia

I changed 'annexed' to attacked, only because the chances of the Republic 'annexing' anything right now, especially in Austia is quite slim. --Kitzi 08:14, 12 Jun 2005 (CDT)

Well yes, attacking is essentially what they're doing, but they're calling it annexation, simply because on a national perspective that sounds a whole lot nicer. There's a forum post about half done on my desktop about the whole affair. And Austia's not really in the greatest position to do much of anything. They came off very poorly in the war, forced to surrender and reaping none of the benefits of the Republics loss of power elsewhere. --Marlina 17:34, 23 Jun 2005 (CDT)

Austia's not alone in this. Valanthas and the Holy Launcian Empire have been bolstering Austia's defenses in a proxy war against the Republic as well. So it's not just the Austian Military along that border. --Kitzi 00:03, 24 Jun 2005 (CDT)

Why would Valanthas partake in a war when they have their own ongoing problems, and have never been threatened by the Kebeyen Republic, despite a continuing anti-mage sentiment prevailing within the borders of the latter nation? Following the War of Liberation, and Erisvan's strike downwards, the Republic under Reelin was aiding them in rebuilding their nation, and Mazus has not gone out of his way to strain the goodwill engendered there. --Marlina 12:43, 24 Jun 2005 (CDT)
